COURSE FAQ

This course is accredited by The Royal College of Surgeons under our centre accreditation. On completion you will receive a certificate of attendance.

The objective of STACC is to provide educators and trainers with the skills and knowledge to deliver educational immersive simulation in the ‘ATACCway’. This methodology has been developed over the last 25 years across a wide range of emergency service, trauma, health and critical care training and through constant feedback and improvement it is now recognised across the world as one of the most effective approaches to realistic training.
The course explains how to set clear objectives, then delivered through immersive simulation. This includes, planning, set up, running and debriefing using our ‘CASPER’ approach with progressively changing levels of instructor support.

STACC is designed for those individuals wishing to run casualty care and medical scenarios within training or refresher courses.  This style of training is perfect for the Emergency services including National Firearms, Public Order and other police instructors, Paramedic Educators  and Fire & Rescue instructors. Within healthcare the course is ideal for Medical and nurse educators across a wide range of disciplines such as trauma, emergency medicine, resuscitation and critical care.

You should enrol on this course if you want to learn and improve how to deliver high level, truly immersive medical simulation as part of any education or CPD package. STACC will augment any training programme to achieve the best performance from your candidates. They will leave your training feeling empowered and best prepared for the challenges that they will face in their work.

This varies through the course as we use a core bank of instructors, supported by specialist experts who join for particular elements. As the normal course size is 12 delegates we have a minimum of 2 instructors at any time.

There is no formal pass/fail examination but all candidates will be assessed throughout the course as they write, produce and deliver elements and ultimately full scenarios. At each step the instructors will provide feedback to ensure progression and successful completion of the course.
