Medical Command & Control

Course Overview
The Medical Command and Control Course delivers structured, tactical medical leadership training for first responders operating in high-risk environments.
The programme is accredited by The ATACC Group, the ATACC Faculty, the ATACC Tactical Faculty, and the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS, London), ensuring recognised standards of excellence.
Learning Outcomes

Assume Command Roles – confidently take on medical command responsibilities within the JESIP structure.

Conduct Scene Assessments – apply rapid risk assessment models to evaluate tactical environments.

Establish Medical Command Points – secure Casualty Clearing Points (CCPs) and set medical footprints under threat.

Triage and Prioritise – apply Triage Sort methods for effective casualty prioritisation.

Communicate via JESIP Frameworks – deliver concise updates using MIST, ETHANE, and METHANE protocols.

Make Dynamic Decisions Under Pressure – apply the NDM and OODA Loop to maintain effective command in complex incidents.

Perform Command & Control Exercises – practice leadership in scenarios including active threat, public order, CBRN, and multi-site incidents.

Maintain Command Logs – record, track, and communicate command decisions with robust documentation.
Course Details

Pre-requisites: RTACC or PHEM Level D (or above).

Duration: 2 days (mandatory modules completed within 3 years to achieve Civilian Tactical Medicine (CTM) qualification).

Certification: Certificate of Completion in Medical Command and Control, with module credits towards the Civilian Tactical Medicine Programme.
