Tactical Medical Planning

Overview

The Tactical Medical Planning Course is a 2-day programme designed for Emergency Service ground responders and operational medics who are responsible for developing and managing medical plans in complex environments.

From small-scale incidents to large-scale emergencies and public events, this course provides the skills to anticipate medical needs, coordinate resources, and integrate medical operations seamlessly into wider incident management frameworks.

Training is delivered through a blend of lectures, case studies, group work, and table-top exercises, ensuring participants gain both the theoretical knowledge and practical insights needed to lead effectively in high-pressure environments.

Key Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Conduct medical risk assessments and anticipate casualty loads.
Develop scalable medical response plans for a variety of incident types.
Apply principles of triage, treatment, and transport.
Coordinate effectively with Emergency Services and public health partners.
