For this unique 1day ATACC experience who have selected some key ATACC Faculty members to provide our delegates with a unique experience. Drawing from all emergency services, HEMS, emergency medicine, critical care and specialist rescue we have gathered an expert group of our instructors to teach our trauma and cardiac arrest master-classes.

The Faculty have such a wealth of educational experience that they will tailor the sessions to fit the needs of the groups, from the core essentials right through to the absolute cutting edge of practice.

Mark is also an NHS Associate Medical Director, the Founder of ATACC and has spent more than 25 years tirelessly delivering world-renowned teaching, innovating, simulating and making the impossible seem to happen.

Dr Halden Hutchinson-Bazely

Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Pre Hospital Care – UK

Halden, known as Hutch, is the Deputy Medical Director of the ATACC course. He is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and a Fellow in Pre Hospital Care, working at London HEMS. He has developed experience in endovascular resuscitation including REBOA and ECMO, and as well as teaching ATACC, is faculty for the SPEAR course and the EVTM workshop. He is a passionate educator and simulator, with a particular emphasis on decision making and human performance in adversity.

Stu is a Crew Manager in Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. In his 31 years service he has specialised in animal and swift water rescue, and is an RTC instructor and a Rope Rescue Instructor. He’s been with ATACC for 10 years now!

Firefighter with 12 years service working for Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue with a passion for extrication & PHEM. He has been with ATACC now for 6 years and is also an instructor on the RTACC Courses. Stephen is also currently working towards his DipATACC.

Tony Hewitt

Fire & Rescue – UK

Tony is a Watch Manager in Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. Current responsibilities include Response & Emergency Planning and Project Management. In over 21 years’ service, he has also specialised as an RTC Instructor, Breathing Apparatus/CFBT/PPV Instructor, Incident Command Trainer, and EPA Assessor/Internal Quality Assurance.

Dr Toby Edmunds

Consultant in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine and Transfer Medicine – UK

Toby has spent his career delivering emergency and resuscitation care in multiple settings following the pathway of critically unwell patients from incident through to critical care discharge. He has a wealth of teaching and training experience in advanced techniques including endovascular resuscitation and point of care ultrasound. Based in the East of England.

Phil is an offshore medic, commercial diving medic and technical rescue subject matter expert. He also delivers our RTACC course.

Olly Sapsford

Firefighter & Operational Commander – UK

Olly is a Lecturer in Disaster and Emergency Management at Coventry University and a firefighter and operational commander in a major UK metropolitan fire service.

He is particularly fascinated by the interactions and behaviours of humans within complex systems. From this dual perspective, his research focuses on human factors and the socio-cognitive elements that shape decision-making in high-pressure, high-stakes environments. His interests lie especially in the faster side of decision-making, exploring the role of intuition and the use of tacit knowledge under pressure.

His teaching is centred on disaster and emergency management and resilience, with specific focus areas including risk, human factors and non-technical skills (NTS), integrated emergency management, interoperability, training and exercise design and delivery, emergency planning and preparedness, and organisational resilience. In addition, he supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate research.

Mick Goodwin

HEMS Paramedic – UK

Mick Goodwin is a helicopter emergency medical services Paramedic working in prehospital critical care. Mick operates as part of HEMS teams responding to trauma, medical and complex clinical situations across diverse geographical locations. Having worked with multiple prehospital and HEMS services, Mick has developed extensive experience inclusive of training and education.

Mick has a significant interest in endovascular resuscitation and its application in the prehospital environment and has been involved in the implementation and project management of endovascular resuscitation in various critical care services. This specialized expertise positions him at the forefront of innovative prehospital interventions that extend advanced hospital-level care to emergency scenes.

His earlier career included time spent as a paramedic on double crewed ambulances and solo responding on fast response cars and as part of a motorcycle response unit. This diverse operational background provides Mick with comprehensive understanding of emergency medical services across multiple platforms and response configurations.

Mick holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Critical Care, providing the academic foundation that complements his extensive practical experience. Through his work in clinical training and education, Mick contributes to advancing prehospital emergency medicine, particularly in the emerging field of endovascular resuscitation techniques.

Matthew Wright

Matty is a Firefighter with 10 years experience. With a background of working in the Royal Air Force Fire & Rescue Service, Civil Aviation and Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service. He is currently an instructor in Road Traffic Collision and Swift Water Rescue.
